Terms of Use for the Quad 101 Public DNS Service

Effective Date: 2025/08/04

1. Description of the Service

We provide a public recursive DNS resolver for general use. The Service offers standard DNS resolution and applies threat-based and legal-compliance filtering, including:

• Phishing domains;
• Malware distribution sites;
• Botnet command-and-control (botnet C&C) domains; and
• Content prohibited by applicable laws or regulations.

The Service supports both traditional DNS and encrypted DNS (e.g., DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS), where available.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms and all applicable local, national, and international laws and regulations.

You must not use the Service to:

• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or systems supporting it.
• Circumvent or attempt to disable the filtering mechanisms built into the Service.
• Engage in malicious activities such as DNS amplification attacks, tunneling, or enumeration.

We reserve the right to suspend or block users who abuse or compromise the integrity of the Service.

3. Filtering and Blocking

This Service includes DNS filtering mechanisms that block access to certain domains deemed harmful or illegal, including:

• Verified phishing and malware sources from recognized threat intelligence providers.
• Domains identified by law enforcement or regulatory authorities as prohibited under local laws.

Queries for blocked domain names will be redirected to a Landing Page to notify users that the domain has been blocked for security reasons.

Filtering policies are designed in good faith and updated regularly, but we do not guarantee completeness or accuracy.

4. Privacy and Logging

We retain minimal DNS query data for operational, debugging, and security purposes. For details, refer to our Privacy Policy .

We do not sell user data or use it for targeted advertising.

5. No Warranty

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
• All malicious or illegal domains will be successfully blocked.
• Content delivered via resolved domains is safe or appropriate.

You use the Service at your own risk.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

7. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The effective date of the latest version will be indicated at the beginning of this document.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Taiwan, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
