This Privacy Policy explains how Taiwan Network Information Center collects, uses, and protects information from users of its public DNS resolver service ("Service").
(1) Temporary DNS Logs
We collect minimal DNS-related data necessary to operate and secure the Service. This includes: - Source/Destination IP address and port number; - Query type and domain name; - Timestamps; and - Response data
(2) Permanent DNS Logs
The permanent logs are a sampling of the temporary DNS logs, which contain no personal information. The following information is collected and kept as permanent logs:
We retain Temporary DNS query data for a maximum of 30 days for performance monitoring and threat analysis, unless required longer by legal obligation or incident investigation.
The collected data is used solely for: - Maintaining and optimizing resolver performance; - Detecting abuse or malicious activity;
We do not sell or share individual user data. Aggregated or anonymized data may be shared with trusted partners for cybersecurity research or legal compliance if required.
We enable DNSSEC validation and use encryption protocols (such as DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS) to enhance user privacy and prevent tampering. Operational access to logs and infrastructure is tightly controlled.
